Posting Ashes - What Are The Rules?

After you have placed your order, and received your order confirmation:

1. We will send you a postal pack, with everything you will need to send your loved one's ashes to us

2. Send us up to 50g of your loved one's ashes, using the postal pack we send you; see below

3. If you have asked us to collect your loved one’s ashes from you, we will aim to be in contact with you, within 24 hours of your order

Royal Mail

When returning the postal pack to us, containing your loved one's ashes, we recommend using a tracked & signed-for service. One such option is Special Delivery, from the Royal Mail. Royal Mail state that ashes may be sent via their network, but must be kept to 50g, and so please do not exceed this.

The following advice comes from the Royal Mail’s website:

Human or animal ashes

UK & International - Allowed in the mail, see restrictions and packaging guidelines below:

Volume per item must not exceed 50g.

Ashes must be placed in a sift-proof [leak-proof] container and securely closed. Items must be tightly packed in strong outer packaging and must be secured or cushioned to prevent any damage.

The sender's name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.

We recommend that you retain some of your loved one’s ashes, when posting their ashes to us, in case there is any problem with the post. When you scatter your seed balls, you can scatter these extra ashes, too. Please note, we cannot accept liability for any ashes/products, lost in the postal system.

Personal Collection/Delivery

We can also offer personal delivery &/or collection to any BN postcode for £25 per round journey (i.e. £25 to collect your loved one’s ashes from you & then £25 to deliver the finished products to you). If you require this service, please choose this at Checkout.

If you live outside the BN area but would be interested in personal delivery, please get in touch via the "Contact Us" page & we will be happy to try & help.

Couriers

Couriers generally do not accept parcels containing ashes. The exception to this, at the time of writing, is SpeedLink. They do offer a door-to-door service, but please note that this is liable to be expensive, and likely in excess of £150.
